There was an upset in Guanajuato where higher rankedSantos (14-18) were defeated by fifteenth ranked Abejas (8-24) 105-98 on Wednesday. Abejas shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Torren Jones (206-1994, college: William Penn) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Croatian-American point guard Nikolas Tomsick (183-1991, college: Fort Lewis) helped adding 18 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Terry Larrier (203-1995, college: UConn) with 26 points and Puerto Rican Jesus Cruz (196-1998, college: Fairfield) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Five Abejas and four Santos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Abejas moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Santos keep the eleventh position with 18 games lost.
