There was a surprise result in Irapuato where twelfth rankedFreseras (12-19) beat higher ranked Plateros (18-14) 105-96 on Wednesday. Freseras made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Plateros turnovers. Freseras looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Jamari Wheeler (185-1997, college: Ohio St.) helped adding 16 points, 10 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was American-Puerto Rican Devon Collier (203-1991, college: Oregon St.) with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Michael Bryson (193-1994, college: UCSB) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Freseras maintains twelfth place with 12-19 record. Loser Plateros dropped to the eighth position with 14 games lost.
