Minas - Flamengo 75-80

It looked good early as Minas took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Flamengo had a 26-18 second period charge getting the lead and Minas were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-80. They outrebounded Minas 35-20 including 25 on the defensive glass. Argentinian Martin Cuello (193-1993) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Gabriel Galvanini (202-1998) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Flamengo's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Alexey Borges (185-1995) responded with 25 points and 7 assists and power forward Renan Lenz (207-1990, college: Utah) scored 11 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Vivo/Franca made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Vivo/Franca outrebounded Quimsa 42-26 including a 20-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Quimsa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of center Lucas Silva (208-1995) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Lucas Mariano (208-1993) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) answered with 24 points and point guard Juan Brussino (185-1991) added 13 points in the effort for Quimsa. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
