Experienced Cuban-Puerto Rican Ismael Romero (205-C-1991) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Real Esteli and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 32-year old center had a double-double of 29 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Gladiadores (#2, 1-1) in overtime 97-92. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Real Esteli to consolidate first place in the Basketball Champions League Americas. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Real Esteli won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Romero turned to be Real Esteli's top player in his first season with the team. Romero has impressive league stats. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Brussino is well-known by Quimsa fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Quimsa's star - Tayavek Gallizzi (206-F/C-1993). Gallizzi scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was another key player of Quimsa Santiago del Estero, helping his team with a 86-78 win against #2 ranked Nacional. Quimsa has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Gallizzi also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Gallizzi has a very solid season.
