There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in BCL Americas. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Buenos Aires. First ranked Brazilian Flamengo faced 3rd placed Argentinian Boca. Guests from Rio de Janeiro (4-1) defeated host Boca (1-4) 87-79. Flamengo made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Devon Scott (206-1994, college: Dayton) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Argentinian point guard Franco Balbi (188-1989) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. American forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flamengo have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-1 record. Boca at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Flamengo are looking forward to face league's second-placed Hebraica in Montevideo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Boca will have a break next round.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Sao Paulo. Third ranked Brazilian Sao Paulo faced second-ranked Uruguayan Nacional. Host Sao Paulo (2-3) defeated guests from Montevideo (2-3) 93-76. American guard Malcolm Miller (201-1991, college: Southern) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Ralfi Ansaloni contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Michael Smith (193-1995, college: CBU) answered with 20 points for Nacional. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sao Paulo moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Nacional. Sao Paulo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nacional will play at home against the league's leader Quimsa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
