Hebraica - Quimsa 75-89

Quimsa dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Hebraica's 34. They outrebounded Hebraica 36-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. Quimsa players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Claudio Ramirez (200-1990) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Emiliano Basabe (195-1992) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Quimsa's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) answered with 25 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and the other American import center Franklin Hassell (205-1988, college: ODU) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hebraica. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Halcones UV Xalapa was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Flamengo made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Argentinian point guard Franco Balbi (188-1989) fired 19 points and 7 assists for the winners. Gabriel Galvanini (202-1998) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) produced 26 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Daniel Bejarano (193-1991, college: Colorado St.) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Halc.Xalapa players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
