Round 1 (Regular Season): Quimsa lose to Bigua

The Regular Season in BCL Americas just started. Coincidentally all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Argentinian Quimsa recorded a loss in Santiado del Estero on Thursday night. Hosts were edged by Uruguayan Bigua 72-70. 25 personal fouls committed by Quimsa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Armenian-American guard Andre Spight (191-1995, college: N.Colorado) fired 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Matias Espinosa (186-2004) chipped in 16 points (made all of his eight free throws). Bahamas center Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bigua will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Quimsa will play at home against Minas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game was played in Montevideo. Brazilian Minas faced Uruguayan Bigua. Guests from Belo Horizonte defeated host Bigua 73-60. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds. Alexandre Paranhos contributed with 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian Leandro Cerminato (201-1998) answered with 12 points for Bigua. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Minas will play against Quimsa in Santiado del Estero in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bigua will have a break next round.

But then Minas had a 20-9 second period charge getting the lead and Bigua was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-73. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Alexandre Paranhos (204-1992) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Minas players scored in double figures. Argentinian Leandro Cerminato (201-1998) answered with 12 points and Brazilian center Maique Tavares (211-1993) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bigua. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
