There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in BCL Americas. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The game had a very big importance for seventh-ranked Brazilian Minas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Minas smashed 8th ranked Argentinian Quimsa in Belo Horizonte 86-64. Forward Winicius Braga (204-2005) fired 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian guard Juan Arengo (185-1996) chipped in 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American-Ghanian Prince Ali (193-1996, college: UCLA) produced 16 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Minas (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Quimsa at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. Quimsa will play next round against strong Bigua trying to get back on the winning streak. Minas will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Bigua in Montevideo.
Undefeated Brazilian Flamengo (4-1) recorded its first loss in Buenos Aires. Visitors were rolled over by fifth ranked Argentinian Boca (3-2) 96-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Flamengo. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Santiago Scala (186-1991) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 assists. Franco Giorgetti contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Boca's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Gui Pereira (192-1991) answered with 22 points for Flamengo. Defending Argentinian champion moved-up to second place. Flamengo at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
