Neptune's 21 points give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

21-year old forward Yuri Neptune (201-F-2003) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Minas Belo Horizonte and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
He had the game-high 21 points adding four rebounds and three assists for Minas in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Bigua (#3, 1-5) 81-77. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Minas to consolidate first place in the Basketball Champions League Americas. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Minas already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. It was one of impressive evenings for Neptune as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Yuri Neptune averages this season 7.5ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Juan Tello-Palacios (206-F/C-1985) of Atletico Bigua Montevideo. He is Spanish-Colombian forward in his first season at Bigua. In the last game Tello-Palacios recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Bigua was edged by slightly higher-ranked Quimsa (#2, 2-4) 75-71. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Bigua still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Bigua managed to get this year. Tello-Palacios is a newcomer at Bigua and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Minas' star - forward Alexandre Paranhos (204-F-1992). Paranhos scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Minas Belo Horizonte, helping his team with a 81-77 win against #3 ranked Bigua. Minas started extremely well this year. They recorded 6 victories without losing a single game. Paranhos turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Paranhos has a great season in Basketball Champions League Americas. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.0rpg (8th best).
