BCL Americas 2025-26: Official draw results, groups revealed for Season 7

MIAMI (United States) – The groups for Season 7 of the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCL Americas) were determined on Friday during the official draw held in Miami. The ceremony was hosted by Carlos Alves, Executive Director of the FIBA Regional Office in the Americas, and streamed live on the official BCL Americas YouTube channel. The groups were set as follows:

GROUP A:

SESI Franca (Franca - BRA) Instituto (Córdoba - ARG) UdeC (Concepción - CHI)

Before the draw, it was announced that Group A had been pre-assigned for geographical and logistical reasons. Colombian clubs Paisas and Caimanes del Llano, along with Mexico’s Astros de Jalisco, were placed together. As a result, only Groups B, C, and D were drawn. It was also confirmed that the highest-ranked teams from Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay in their most recent full national league season would be seeded as the heads of Groups B, C, and D. Additionally, each group was restricted to only one team per country to ensure balance.

COMPETITION SYSTEM

This season will tip off in December 2025, with the Group Phase played across three windows. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Quarter-finals, scheduled for March 2026. The Quarter-finals will follow this bracket format: A1 vs. B2 D2 vs. C1 D1 vs. C2 A2 vs. B1
Each Quarter-final will be contested in a best-of-three series using the 1–2 system. The winners will advance to the Final 4 in April, where the Semi-final victors will battle for the championship, while the losing teams will compete for third place. All games will be broadcast by DIRECTV in South America and streamed on the BCL Americas YouTube channel in other regions. Flamengo enters as the defending champion and will attempt to become the first team to win back-to-back titles in the competition’s history. The champion of the 2025-26 BCL Americas will also represent the continent at the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in 2026.
