Venezuelans Abroad - David Cubillan joins Aguada (Uruguay) for BCL 2025-2026

Venezuelan PG David Cubillan (181-PG-1987, college: Marquette) was announced as one of the two foreign players joining Aguada (Uruguay) for the 2025-2026 edition of the Basketball Champions League Americas (BCLA).

Cubillan, a 38 year-old, 1.81m tall member of Venezuela's Senior National Team who's got a 15-year pro career, is a former Marquette (NCAA) standout who's played for teams such as Trotamundos de Carabobo, Guaiqueries de Margarita, Espartanos de Margarita and Guaros de Lara in Venezuela.

In overseas leagues, he's played for franchises such as Soles de Mexicali, Fuerza Regia Monterrey, Abejas de Leon, Halcones de Xalapa and Dorados de Chihuahua in Mexico, Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Ashdod in Israel, Levitec Huesca in Spain, Flamengo and Unifacisa in Brazil, Caribbean Storm and Titanes de Barranquilla in Colombia as well as Goes in Uruguay.

In Venezuela's SPB 2025 season, Cubillan played a total of 39 games with averages of 10.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists, including 41% from the three-point distance.
