The Regular Season in BCL Americas just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Brazilian Vivo/Franca in Cordoba on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Argentinian Instituto 93-89. Instituto dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Vivo/Franca's 34. Javier Saiz (206-1994) fired 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Nicolas Copello (193-1992) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. Instituto's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. point guard Georginho de Paula (197-1996) produced 24 points and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Another exciting game was played in Montevideo between Argentinian Boca Juniors and Uruguayan Aguada where Boca Juniors beat Aguada on the road with 17-point difference 88-71. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Smith (193-1995, college: CBU) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Francisco Caffaro contributed with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American Earl Clark (208-1988, college: Louisville, agency: BIG) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds for Aguada. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
An interesting game was played in Buenos Aires where Brazilian Minas crushed host Argentinian Boca Juniors with 19-point difference 80-61 on Thursday evening. Jordan Williams stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Michael Smith responded with 19 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Other games of round 1 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Instituto defeated Univ.Concepcion in Cordoba 80-74. Winless Univ.Concepcion was beaten by Sesi/Franca at home 79-85. Minas won against Aguada on the opponent's court 77-74.

Univ.Concepcion - Instituto 74-80

There was no surprise when Chilean Univ.Concepcion was defeated at home by Argentinian Instituto 80-74 on Wednesday. American forward Keylan Boone (203-2000, college: UNLV) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and guard Nicolas Copello (193-1992) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Instituto's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Stephen Maxwell (201-1993, college: CSUN) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and scored 14 points and 6 assists. Four Univ.Concepcion players scored in double figures. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Another exciting game was played in Montevideo between Argentinian Boca Juniors and Uruguayan Aguada where Boca Juniors beat Aguada on the road with 17-point difference 88-71. Boca Juniors dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Aguada's 32. They outrebounded Aguada 44-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Boca Juniors players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Smith (193-1995, college: CBU) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Francisco Caffaro contributed with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American Earl Clark (208-1988, college: Louisville, agency: BIG) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Federico Pereiras (190-1994) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Aguada.
