Best players of Basketball Champions League Americas round 1

American Keylan Boone (203-F-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat the league's bottom-ranked team Univ.Concepcion 80-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Instituto to consolidate first place in the Basketball Champions League Americas. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Instituto won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Boone turned to be Instituto's top player in his first season with the team.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another CD Universidad de Concepcion's star - young American forward Stephen Maxwell (201-F-1993). Maxwell impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as CD Universidad de Concepcion lost that game 79-85 to Sesi/Franca. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Maxwell is well-known by Univ.Concepcion fans and together with Keylan Boone they both established positions among team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American David Jackson (192-G-1982) of second-ranked Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo. Jackson scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Jackson's great performance the Vivo/Franca lost 89-93 to #1 ranked Instituto. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Sesi/Franca needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Jackson has a very solid season. In 2 games in Basketball Champions League Americas he scored 10.5ppg.
