Zinaich's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

28-year old American forward Connor Zinaich (201-F-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Nacional De Futbol Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Flamengo (#2, 1-1) 75-63. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Nacional to consolidate first place in the Basketball Champions League Americas. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Nacional won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Zinaich had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Nacional's top player in his first season with the team. Nova Southeastern University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Zinaich is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.5ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 56.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Alex Negrete (192-F-2001) of league's second-best Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. He is Argentinian forward in his first season at Flamengo. In the last game Negrete recorded an impressive 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. It was enough for Flamengo to edge Obras (0-2) by 4 points 84-80. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Negrete is a newcomer at Flamengo and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 3.5apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Nacional's star - Ernesto Oglivie (203-C/F-1989). Oglivie scored 17 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was another key player of Nacional De Futbol Montevideo, helping his team with a 75-71 win against #3 ranked Obras in a game of the week. Nacional has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Oglivie also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats.
