Connor Zinaich, 28-year old American forward Nacional De Futbol Montevideo from Uruguay, picked up the Player of the Year at the Liga Uruguaya de Basquetbol. He graduated from the Nova Southeastern six years ago. Zinaich received multiple other awards, was named the Defensive Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year, Forward of the Year, and was voted to the First Team and Imports Team. He helped Zinaich's team have an undefeated season as Nacional De Futbol Montevideo was not challenged in the league with a perfect 6 to 0 in the regular season. Zinaich conducted his way to the fifth position in averaging a commendable almost 18 points per game. He was the Player of the Week honoree twice during the 25 26 campaign. Zinaich led the LUB in rebounds per game with almost 10. He has totalled 9 games of 20 or more points and recorded double-doubles in 12 games on the year. Zinaich's 27 points against the Cordon were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. Lucas Dias, center finalist team Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo from Brazil, was voted the Latin Player of the Year of Novo Basquete Brasil. He collected multiple other honors, was selected as the Center of the Year, and was chosen to the First Team and was named to Honorable Mention selection. Dias' best performance made his team reach the final but they were defeated by the Boca Juniors 72 to 86. He received Player of the Week award in the league. With finesse and precision, Dias claimed the third position in points per game, delivering a stellar almost 18 points per game average. Dias also averaged almost 6 rebounds per game in the league. He has totalled 14 games of 20 or more points on the year and registered 30 or more points in 2 games. Dias had double-doubles in 3 games at the event. His 31 points against the UniFacisa were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. As you can see the league is dominated by ex-college players where 6 out of 10 best scorers graduated U.S. schools. Trey Burke, 33-year old American point guard Astros de Jalisco from Mexico, was honored as the Guard of the Year at the Basketball Champions League Americas. He Is the Michigan alumni from 2013. Burke received multiple other awards, was named to the First Team and Imports Team. He helped Burke's team have an undefeated season as Astros de Jalisco was not challenged in the league with a perfect 6 to 0 in the regular season. Burke's court vision propelled him to the second spot in points per game an outstanding average of over 19. He also recorded almost 4 assists per game that season in the league. Burke has totalled 14 games of 20 or more points on the year and logged 30 or more points in 3 games. His 42 points against Los Mochis were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. As you can see the league is dominated by ex-college players where 6 out of 10 best scorers graduated U.S. schools. He won NBA G League Western Conference championship title in 2023. Chris Perry, 31-year old American forward Astros de Jalisco from Mexico, earned a spot in the First Team of Basketball Champions League Americas. He Is ex the Lincoln Memorial from 2017. Perry was also voted to the Imports Team. He helped Perry's team have an undefeated season as Astros de Jalisco was not challenged in the league with a perfect 6 to 0 in the regular season. Perry's playmaking prowess was on full display as he secured the fifth position in rebounds per game averaging almost 7. He also registered almost 16 points per game over the season in the league. Perry has totalled 5 games of 20 or more points and notched double-doubles in 4 games on the year. His 31 points against the Flamengo were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. Among many awards he played in the final of the UBA in 2022. He was selected to the USBasket.com All-UBA First Team as well as the All-Star Game back in 2022. Perry was also selected to the Latinbasket All-Mexican LNBP Second Team as well as the All-Chilean Liga Nacional Honorable Mention back in 2023. Georginho de Paula, point guard Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo from Brazil, was selected to the First Team at the Novo Basquete Brasil. He also earned Honorable Mention. de Paula's best performance made his team reach the final but they were defeated by the Boca Juniors 72 to 86. His masterful distribution skills earned him the second spot in assists per game with an impressive average of over 5. de Paula also averaged over 14 points and 5 rebounds per game in the league. He has totalled 12 games of 20 or more points on the year and recorded 30 or more points in 2 games. de Paula registered double-doubles in 14 games at the event. His 31 points against the Luvix/Uniao Corinthians were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. Among many awards he was selected to the Latinbasket All-Paulista League Player of the Year between 2019 and 2021. He was also selected to the Latinbasket All-Brazilian Paulista Defensive Player of the Year in 2025. de Paula was selected to the Latinbasket All-Paulista League Domestic Player of the Year between 2019 and 2021. He was also selected to the Latinbasket All-Paulista First Team for three consecutive years between 2019 and 2021.
