  follow us on Facebook Twitter

Experienced Former international Forward Darwin Leslie (191-F-81) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Belize City D. and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 36-year old forward had the game-high 28 points adding eight rebounds for Belize City D. in his team's victory, helping them to beat San Pedro T. (#1, 6-1) 76-70. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Belize City D. is placed at 2nd position in Belizean NEBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Belize City D. will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Leslie had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Belize City D., being already a very valuable addition to the team. Leslie has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.0ppg) and averages solid 57.6% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was ) of Verdes. impressed basketball fans with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course he led Verdes to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked Belmopan B. (#5, 2-4) 101-70. This victory allowed Verdes to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 6th position in the standings. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Verdes managed to get this year. is one of the most experienced players at Verdes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.5ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 4.5rpg and 5.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was ) of top-ranked San Pedro T.. got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for eight rebounds . Despite 's great performance San Pedro T. lost 70-76 to #2 ranked Belize City D.. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. San Pedro T. had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. 's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. has a great season in Belize. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 14.8ppg (best scorer), rebounds with 7.0rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 1.0apg (best passer).
