Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

NEBL round 7 most important game was a victory of Dream Ballers over their biggest opponent Belize City D. 74-70 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Belize City D.. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Dream Ballers dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Belize City D.'s 28. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Edgar Mitchell who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. D Conorque contributed with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Nigel Jones (200-90, college: Talladega) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds for Belize City D.Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dream Ballers (4-1) moved-up to second place. Belize City D. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Smart Belize H.. Dream Ballers are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Orange Walk RR (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Belize City D.'s supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Belize City Smart Belize H..
NEBL top team - San Pedro T. (7-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Belmopan B. (2-5) 95-91. It was a great evening for American guard Jihad Wright (193, college: UNC Pembroke) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 9 rebounds. Martevuius Adams helped adding 24 points and 6 rebounds. San Pedro T.'s coach used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Luther Page (198, college: Alabama St.) responded with 27 points and 7 rebounds. San Pedro T. maintains first place with 7-1 record. Belmopan B. lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. San Pedro T. will play against Verdes (#5) in the next round. Belmopan B. will have a break next round.

Orange Walk RR will play against the league's second-placed Dream Ballers (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.



Orange Walk RR - Verdes 66-73

Bottom-ranked Orange Walk RR is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to sixth ranked Verdes (2-4) 73-66 on Saturday evening. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Richard Troyer (196-84, college: Utah Valley) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. The former international forward Gene Myvett (193-82, college: CS Los Angeles) accounted for 13 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. American center James Ewing (198-90, college: Mercyhurst) came up with 23 points and forward Roger Reneau added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for Orange Walk RR in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Verdes moved-up to fifth place. Loser Orange Walk RR still closes the standings with six games lost. Verdes will meet league's leader San Pedro T. on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. They outrebounded Belmopan B. 42-27 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Jihad Wright (193, college: UNC Pembroke) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 9 rebounds. Martevuius Adams helped adding 24 points and 6 rebounds. San Pedro T.'s coach used entire bench in such tough game. JIHAD WRIGHT Amistad Sucre (Libobasquet) inked 26-year old American forward Jihad Wright (193-86kg-93, college: UNC Pembroke). He played in the summer at San Pedro Tigersharks in Belizean NEBL.
