Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Belize City: Belize City D. (#3) and Smart Belize H. (#4). Belize City D. (4-2) smashed visiting Smart Belize H. (3-3) by 18 points 85-67. Belize City D. forced 22 Smart Belize H. turnovers. Strangely Smart Belize H. outrebounded Belize City D. 53-29 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Smart Belize H.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Nigel Jones (200-90, college: Talladega) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Darwin Leslie (191-81) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. International Brian White (196-95, college: Wesley) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Belize City D. maintains third position with 4-2 record having seven points less than leader San Pedro T. Smart Belize H. at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Belize City D. are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Orange Walk RR (#7) in the next round. Smart Belize H. will play against the league's leader San Pedro T. and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
NEBL top team - San Pedro T. (8-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Verdes (2-5) 92-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Verdes. The winners were led by Martevuius Adams who scored that evening 19 points and 7 rebounds and Jamal Kelly supported him with 17 points and 6 assists. Even 32 points and 9 rebounds by the former international forward Richard Troyer (196-84, college: Utah Valley) did not help to save the game for Verdes. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Pedro T. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record. Newly promoted Verdes keep the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Belmopan B.. San Pedro T. will play against Smart Belize H. (#4) in Belize City in the next round. Verdes will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Orange Walk RR (0-7) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to second ranked Dream Ballers (5-1) 85-70 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was Edgar Mitchell who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. James Ewing produced 17 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Dream Ballers will meet at home Belmopan B. (#6) in the next round. Orange Walk RR will play against Belize City D. and hopes to get finally their first victory.
