Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Bottom-ranked Orange Walk RR is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to fourth ranked Smart Belize H. (5-3) 105-56 on Friday evening. Smart Belize H. dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Orange Walk RR's 30. They outrebounded Orange Walk RR 51-30 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Glency Lopez who helped to win the game recording 10 points and 6 assists. Forward Ray Cruz (196) contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Smart Belize H.'s coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Elvis Olivera replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds for Orange Walk RR. Smart Belize H. maintains fourth position with 5-3 record. Orange Walk RR at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Smart Belize H. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Orange Walk RR will play at home against Belmopan B. (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

D Conorque scored 8 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Davis Guzman chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Isaiah Thomas responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dream Ballers have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Dream Ballers maintains second position with 7-1 record behind leader San Pedro T. Verdes at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fifth place with six games lost. Dream Ballers will play against league's leader San Pedro T. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Verdes will play against Belize City D. (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Even a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds by Luther Page did not help to save the game for Belmopan B.. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Belize City D. have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Belize City D. maintains third position with 6-2 record having 2 victories less than leader San Pedro T. Belmopan B. lost fifth consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Belize City D. will meet at home Verdes (#5) in the next round. Belmopan B. will play against Orange Walk RR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.



Verdes - Dream Ballers 55-59

The game in was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Dream Ballers (7-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Verdes (2-6). Dream Ballers managed to secure a 4-point victory 59-55. D Conorque scored 8 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Davis Guzman chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Isaiah Thomas responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Darnell Oden scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dream Ballers have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Dream Ballers maintains second position with 7-1 record behind leader San Pedro T. Verdes at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the fifth place with six games lost. Dream Ballers will play against league's leader San Pedro T. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Verdes will play against Belize City D. (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The game in Belmopan was also quite interesting. Third ranked Belize City D. (6-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Belmopan B. (2-7). Belize City D. managed to secure a 4-point victory 94-90 on Friday. Belize City D. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Nigel Jones (200-90, college: Talladega) notched a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Francis Arana supported him with 12 points. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Luther Page (198, college: Alabama St.) did not help to save the game for Belmopan B.. The former international guard Leon Jacob (191-84, college: Texas A&M Int.) added 21 points for lost side. Four Belmopan B. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Belize City D. have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Belize City D. maintains third position with 6-2 record having 2 victories less than leader San Pedro T. Belmopan B. lost fifth consecutive game. KRIS FRAZIER American Kris Frazier (201-PG) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Verdes and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 11. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Belize City: Hurricanes (#4) and Running Rebels (#7). Running Rebels were crushed at home by 16 points 72-88 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Hurricanes outrebounded Running Rebels 35-21 including 24 on the defensive glass.
