The Regular Season in NEBL just ended. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Belize City: Hurricanes (#2) and Defenders (#4). Hurricanes (9-3) crushed visiting Defenders (6-6) by 20 points 80-60. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Glency Lopez who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 5 assists. International Brian White (196-95, college: Wesley) contributed with 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for Defenders. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hurricanes have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-3 record behind leader San Pedro T., which they share with Dream Ballers. Defenders lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the fourth position with six games lost.

Dream Ballers - Smart Belize H. 61-73

An interesting game for Hurricanes (9-3) which played road game in Dangriga against much higher ranked Dream Ballers (9-3). Second ranked Hurricanes managed to get a 12-point victory 73-61. Hurricanes dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Dream Ballers' 22 and made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. International Brian White (196-95, college: Wesley) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American center Tyson Reynold (205-92, college: Life) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the losing side guard Edgar Mitchell responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and American center Tahj Wells (208-89, college: Edward Waters) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Hurricanes. They maintain second place with 9-3 record behind leader San Pedro T., which they share with defeated Dream Ballers.

DANIEL CONORQUE International Guard Daniel Conorque (193-G-91) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Dream Ballers, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4. The 27-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat San Pedro T. (#2, 3-2) 79-66. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. DOUGLAS VALLEY 23-year old forward Douglas Valley (194-F-95) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked San Pedro T. and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 3. He had the game-high 20 points adding four rebounds for San Pedro T. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Belmopan B. (#5, 1-2) 81-69.
