There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in NEBL. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Red Bandits (1-1) recorded a loss in Belmopan on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Dream Ballers (2-1) 64-59. Dream Ballers forced 20 Red Bandits turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dream Ballers made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Jamal Kelly (-90) who scored 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Delvon Henderson chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. American center Jevonte Hughes (196-93, college: Charleston) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dream Ballers is looking forward to face Running Rebels (#7) in Belize City in the next round where they are favorite. Red Bandits will play at home against Tigersharks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Belize City: Defenders (#6) and Running Rebels (#7). Defenders (1-2) smashed visiting Running Rebels (0-3) by 28 points 98-70. American center Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Farron Louriano contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Forward Roger Reneau replied with 11 points and 6 rebounds for Running Rebels. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defenders' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Belize City to the arena .

Devin Daly scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners. Martevuius Adams responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hurricanes will meet at home Verdes (#5) in the next round. Tigersharks will play against Red Bandits in Belmopan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

An exciting game was played in San Pedro. Hurricanes faced Tigersharks. Guests from Belize City (2-0) defeated host Tigersharks (2-1) 87-71. International guard Devin Daly (195-94, college: L.Superior) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Akeem Watters (186-95) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Center Martevuius Adams responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Kurt Burgess (196-82) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hurricanes will meet at home Verdes (#5) in the next round. Tigersharks will play against Red Bandits in Belmopan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Belize City D. - Orange Walk RR 98-70

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Belize City: Defenders (#6) and Running Rebels (#7). Defenders (1-2) smashed visiting Running Rebels (0-3) by 28 points 98-70. Defenders dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Running Rebels' 36. Defenders forced 29 Running Rebels turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Defenders brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Running Rebels were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Farron Louriano (198-89) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Roger Reneau replied with 11 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Devin Wyatt (201-96, college: Incarnate Word) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Running Rebels. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. DANIEL CONORQUE International Guard Daniel Conorque (193-G-91) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Dream Ballers, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 4. The 27-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat San Pedro T. (#2, 3-2) 79-66. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Belize City: Defenders (#6) and Hurricanes (#4). DOUGLAS VALLEY 23-year old forward Douglas Valley (194-F-95) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked San Pedro T. and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 3. He had the game-high 20 points adding four rebounds for San Pedro T. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Belmopan B. (#5, 1-2) 81-69.
