An exciting game was played in San Pedro. First ranked Dream Ballers faced 3rd placed Tigersharks. Guests from Dangriga (5-1) defeated host Tigersharks (3-3) 86-78. The best player for the winners was guard Jamal Kelly (-90) who scored 27 points and 5 steals. Delvon Henderson chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Center Martevuius Adams produced 19 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Tigersharks' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Dream Ballers have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-1 record. Tigersharks at the other side keep the third position with three games lost. Dream Ballers are looking forward to face Defenders (#5) in Belize City in the next round. Tigersharks will have a break next round.
An exciting game was played in Belize City. Third ranked Verdes faced 4th placed Defenders. Guests from (3-1) defeated host Defenders (2-3) 76-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Defenders. International power forward Tyrone Hall (190-90, college: Queens, NY) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Kris Frazier contributed with 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American center Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds for Defenders. Defenders' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Verdes moved-up to second place. Defenders at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Verdes will play against bottom-ranked Running Rebels (#7) in Belize City in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Defenders will play on the road against the league's leader Dream Ballers in Dangriga and hope to get back on the winning track.
Running Rebels can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Red Bandits (1-3) 83-69 on Friday. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Running Rebels maintains seventh place with 1-4 record. It was Red Bandits' third loss in a row. They keep the sixth position with three games lost. Running Rebels will meet league's second-placed Verdes in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Red Bandits will play against Hurricanes (#4) in Belize City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.



Orange Walk RR - Belmopan B. 83-69

Running Rebels can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Red Bandits (1-3) 83-69 on Friday. Running Rebels dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Red Bandits' 26. Forward Roger Reneau stepped up and scored 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Julien Travis chipped in 13 points and 14 rebounds. Four Running Rebels players scored in double figures. American center Jevonte Hughes (196-93, college: Charleston) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Daniel Nolberto scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Running Rebels maintains seventh place with 1-4 record. It was Red Bandits' third loss in a row.
