Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Belize City: Hurricanes (#3) and Running Rebels (#7). Hurricanes (4-2) won against visiting Running Rebels (1-6) 81-72. It was a great evening for international guard Glency Lopez (-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Shannon Fowler (203-93, college: W.Georgia) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Julien Travis responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third place with 4-2 record having just three points less than leader Dream Ballers. Running Rebels at the other side stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Hurricanes are looking forward to face league's second-placed Verdes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Running Rebels' supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Belize City Defenders.
Very significant was Verdes' (#2, 5-1) victory against 4th placed Tigersharks (3-4) 87-62. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Kris Frazier (201, college: Peru St.) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Tyrone Hall accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds. Center Martevuius Adams came up with 23 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) for Tigersharks in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Verdes have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-1 record behind leader Dream Ballers. Tigersharks lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Belize City D.. Verdes will play against Hurricanes (#3) in Belize City in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tigersharks will play on the road against Hurricanes in Belize City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Belmopan supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Defenders (3-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Red Bandits (1-5). Defenders smashed Red Bandits 99-68 on Friday. Nigel Jones fired 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Kevon Laurie produced 13 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defenders moved-up to fourth place, which they share with San Pedro T. Red Bandits lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Defenders' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Belize City to the arena Running Rebels.
