Amistad - La Salle Tarija 95-92

Amistad held off La Salle Tarija to narrow the deficit in the series. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-14. But La Salle Tarija won second period 27-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Amistad shot 60.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by La Salle Tarija helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Tirrell Brown (198-93, college: Ouachita Baptist) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian-American George Williams (198-90, college: Wayland Baptist) contributed with 28 points for the winners. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Venezuelan forward Derwin Ramirez (191-82) answered with 24 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and American power forward Scott Sill (206-92, college: Delaware St.) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for La Salle Tarija. Four Amistad and five La Salle Tarija players scored in double figures.

La Salle CBBA - Rubair 82-89

Rubair topped La Salle CBBA on the road to regain the lead. It looked good early as La Salle CBBA took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rubair took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 7 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to La Salle CBBA's 36. It was a great evening for Venezuelan point guard Eduardo Rios (182-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Venezuelan guard Reimer Machado (185-89) helped adding 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Rubair's coach Jorge Montes allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Joe Efese (198-90, college: Cent.Conn.St.) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Uruguayan Miguel Barriola (191-90) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four La Salle CBBA players scored in double figures.

Pichincha - CAN Oruro 89-68

Pichincha overcame CAN Oruro to avoid elimination. The hosts trailed by 15 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 21 points. Pichincha outrebounded CAN Oruro 45-33 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Rene Calvo (193-93) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international swingman Carlos Romero (190-84) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Five Pichincha players scored in double figures. Pichincha's coach Cristiano Grama felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian power forward Agustin Ambrosino (203-90, college: BYU) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Jeffery Stubbs (189-91, college: Jackson St.) added 22 points respectively for CAN Oruro in the defeat.

Penarol - Calero 91-104

Calero upset Penarol on the road to sweep the quarterfinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Calero. Penarol was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Calero shot 67.7 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Calero especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Ronald Arze (175-93) who scored 22 points and 9 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) chipped in 29 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Diondre Pratt (193-94, college: Johnson C. Smith) who recorded 29 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian power forward Milos Petkovic (204-91) added 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) respectively. Five Calero and four Penarol players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.

MILOS PETKOVIC San Martin Corrientes (La Liga) landed 27-year old Serbian power forward Milos Petkovic (204-100kg-91). He played in the summer at Calero in Bolivian Libobasquet. In two Liga Sudamericana games he averaged impressive 16.5ppg, 7.0rpg, 2.0spg and 1.0bpg. He received also Latinbasket.com All-Bolivian Libobasquet 2nd Team award in 2018.
