CAN Oruro held off La Salle Tarija to take 2-1 lead in the semifinal series. La Salle Tarija was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 22-16 charge of CAN Oruro, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Argentinian power forward Agustin Ambrosino (203-90, college: BYU) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Jeffery Stubbs (189-91, college: Jackson St.) helped adding 24 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Ambrosino is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan guard Michael Flores (192-85) with 31 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Scott Sill (206-92, college: Delaware St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Rubair - Calero 98-106

Calero outgunned Rubair to sweep the semifinal series. Rubair trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 29-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 98-106 at the end of the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Rubair helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American swingman Mike Liabo (198-91, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 27 points. The former international point guard Ronald Arze (175-93) contributed with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Liabo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Venezuelan guard Gregory Curvelo (190-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and Venezuelan guard Reimer Machado (185-89) added 17 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Rubair. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rubair's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Club Universidad Santa Cruz (Libobasque) landed experienced 34-year old American forward Richard Ford (205-85, college: So.Poly State). The last time (17-18) he played at Magic City Surge (ABA) in the U.S. Ford missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball.
