Marcela Viscarra claims Bolivian Libobasquet weekly honour

Experienced International Swingman Marcela Viscarra (169-F/G-1990) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Universidad San Simon and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 33-year old swingman had a double-double of 23 points and thirteen rebounds, while her team outclassed Uriona (#4, 5-3) with 49-point margin 101-52. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Univ. San Simon to consolidate first place in the Bolivian Libobasquet. Univ. San Simon have a solid 7-1 record. Viscarra has many years of experience at Univ. San Simon, through which she has constantly improved. Viscarra has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (7th best: 17.0ppg) and averages solid 1.6bpg,3.3spg and 56.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Julieta Tapia (172-F-2005) of Municipal de Potosi. Tapia impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds. Of course she led Potosi Mun. to another comfortable win outscoring Bolmar (1-7) 79-56. This victory allowed Potosi Mun. to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 7th position in the standings. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Potosi Mun. managed to get this year. Tapia is a newcomer at Potosi Mun. and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.4ppg (#1). She also registered 13.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Vanessa Fernandez of Orca SCZ (#6). Fernandez showcased her all-around game by recording 14 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and eight assists in the last round. She was a key player of Orca, leading her team to a 82-67 easy win against La Salle (#9, 0-6). The chances of Orca not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Fernandez could try to bring Orca's a little bit higher in the standings. Fernandez has individually a great season in Bolivia. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (8th best).
