Pinheiros/Sky - Sao Jose/Vinac 79:80

Sao Jose/Vinac became the Paulista League champions. They overcame Pinheiros/Sky in the decisive fifth game of the title series. Andre Laws (186-PG-80, college: San Diego) stepped up with 24 points to pace the visitors.
Sao Jose/Vinac had to deal with the absence of Murilo Becker (210-C/F-83) in this one. Pinheiros/Sky dominated early in the game. They recorded a 24:19 lead. Soon the home team extended their advantage to 13 points 33:20. Sao Jose/Vinac however managed to cut the deficit. They got within five points 37:42. Andre Laws helped Sao Jose tied things up at 51 later on. The visitors finally surged ahead and ensured a 60:56 lead into the fourth stanza. The teams stayed neck and neck throughout intense fourth quarter. They were tied at 76 with 30 seconds to go in regulation. Andre Laws his a three-pointer but Paulinho Boracini (183-G-84) immediately answered with his own one as the teams got tied up at 79. Dede Stefanelli (196-F/G-84) was put on the charity stripe and sank one free throw for an 80:79 lead for Sao Jose. They held on to the slim advantage and got away with a tough but nevertheless triumphant victory at the end.
