Sao Jose/Unimed clinched the Paulista League title. They overcame Mogi das Cruzes in the decisive third game of the championship series. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 51-46 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Sao Jose/Vinac made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Mogi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Pedro Lima (191-87) who scored 23 points and 6 assists. American point guard Jamaal Smith (175-85, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. Five Sao Jose/Vinac players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 23 points and Guilherme Filipin (185-83) added 22 points respectively.
