Sesi/Franca earned Paulista League title. They held off Sao Jose in the second game of the championship series to complete the sweep. Strangely Sao Jose outrebounded Vivo/Franca 48-32 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Vivo/Franca looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international point guard Georginho de Paula (197-1996) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. International center Lucas Dias (207-1995) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Douglas Silva (202-1998) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and Victor Leal (202-1996) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sao Jose. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

The standout point guard Georginho de Paula was honored as the Finals MVP of the championship-winning Sesi/Franca Sao Paulo. He received multiple other awards, earned the Player of the Year, Guard of the Year, Domestic Player of the Year and was named to the First Team. de Paula's excellent performance assisted his team in beating Sao Jose 2 to 0 in the final series. He was the Player of the Week honoree twice during the 24 campaign.
