Brazilian LDB U20 round 5 best performance: Luiggi Fachin (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Luiggi Fachin (200-F-2004) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Sport Club Corinthians Paulista U20 team, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 21-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Brasilia (#21, 0-6) with 34-point margin 92-58. It allowed Corinthians to take over top position in the Brazilian LDB U20. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Corinthians already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Fachin had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Corinthians, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Luiggi Fachin has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.8ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 13.6rpg) and averages impressive 2.4spg and 66.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Nicolas da Silva (205-PF-2004) of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube Basquete U20 team. da Silva had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Cruzeiro was edged by the higher-ranked Campo Mourao (#11, 4-2) 97-94. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Cruzeiro dropped in the standings to 16th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. da Silva is one of the most experienced players at Cruzeiro and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Pedro Matos (182-G-2006) of Fluminense FC Rio de Janeiro U20 team (#14). Matos got into 30-points club by scoring 39 points in the last round. He was a key player of Fluminense, leading his team to a 81-70 win against the higher-ranked Pato (#9, 4-2). The chances of Fluminense not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Matos could try to bring Fluminense's a little bit higher in the standings. Matos has a very solid season. In 6 games in Brazil he scored 11.5ppg.
