World Cup 2027 American Qualifiers: Santos Steers Brazil Past Venezuela

Brazil delivered a wire-to-wire dominant performance, beating Venezuela 103-88 on July 5, 2026, in a Group C game of the World Cup 2027 American Qualifiers at the Coliseo Evangelista Mora, leading for nearly the entire 40 minutes behind a masterful showing from point guard Yago Dos Santos (175-PG-1999). Venezuela mounted an 11-0 run late in the first quarter to briefly threaten, but Brazil answered immediately and carried a seven-point cushion into halftime, then pulled away for good with an 11-0 burst in the fourth quarter that stretched the lead as high as 23 points.
Santos ran the show with 20 points, 13 assists and six rebounds on efficient shooting, including 5-of-9 from three. Bruno Caboclo (208-C-1995) added 22 points on 6-of-10 shooting with a perfect 8-of-8 from the line, Guilherme Deodato (192-G-1991) was lethal from deep with 15 points on 5-of-7 three-point shooting, and Caio Pacheco (189-PG-1999) chipped in 11 points and four assists. Yohanner Sifontes (192-G-1995) was outstanding for Venezuela with 22 points on 6-of-8 shooting in just over 18 minutes, but the visitors could not sustain any real threat against Brazil's control.
