Paulistano/Corpore Sao Paolo (NBB) added to their roster 33-year old ex-international center Maique Tavares (211cm-110kg-1993) for new 2026-27 season. It is actually his comeback to Paulistano as he has played here before. He played last season at Coop/Sao Jose Basketball (NBB). In 37 games he had 8.9ppg and 3.7rpg.
The previous (2024-25) season he played at Obras Basket Buenos Aires (La Liga) in Argentinian league. He also played for Atletico Bigua Montevideo (LUB) in Uruguayan league.
Tavares represented Brazil at the Panamerican Games in Santiago (Chile) three years ago. Tavares' team won Bronze.
He is quite experienced player. Tavares has played also in Argentina, Mexico (Diablos), Uruguay and Brazil (Vivo/Franca, Flamengo, Minas, Botafogo and Osasco).
Among many awards his team made it to the Brazilian Paulista Semifinals in 2025. He was voted to Brazilian All-Star Game back in 2021.
