Gabriel Pinto claims Brazilian LDB U20 weekly honour

Talented Gabriel Pinto (196-F-2007) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Mogi das Cruzes Basquete and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 19-year old forward had the game-high 33 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Mogi in his team's victory, helping them to crush Campo Mourao (#13, 7-7) with 20-point margin 92-72. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Mogi is placed at 9th position in Brazilian LDB U20. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mogi will need more victories to improve their 8-6 record. In the team's last game Pinto had a remarkable seven three-pointers out of 12 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Gabriel Pinto averages this season 10.7ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Yan do Valle (184-G-2006) of Flamengo Rio de Janeiro U20 team. do Valle impressed basketball fans with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Flamengo to another comfortable win 97-80 over the lower-ranked Cruzeiro (#16, 5-9) being unquestionably team leader. Flamengo's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 9-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. do Valle is one of the most experienced players at Flamengo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Victor Silva (201-F-2005) of Fluminense FC Rio de Janeiro U20 team (#10). Silva scored 20 points. Despite Silva's great performance the Fluminense lost 60-67 to the lower-ranked Bauru (#14, 6-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Fluminense needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 6 lost games. Silva has a great season in Brazil. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 10.6ppg (9th best).
