Homenetmen Beirut (Division A) agreed terms with 30-year old American shooting guard Rashad McCants (193-102kg-84, college: N.Carolina, agency: Haylett Sports). He played last season at Unitri/Magazine Luiza/Uberlandia in Brazilian NBB league. In 10 games he had 11.9ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.0apg. McCants also played 4 games in Liga Americas where he recorded 9.3ppg and 2.8rpg.
The previous (12-13) season he played at Texas Legends in D-League. In four games he recorded very impressive stats: 19.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.0apg and 2.3spg. McCants also played at Foshan (CBA) in Chinese league that season. In 17 games he recorded also remarkable stats: 19.8ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.5apg and 1.2spg in 2012-13 season
In 2005 McCants was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in first round (14th overall). He played 5 years in the best league in the world. The former University of North Carolina standoutis in his tenth season in pro basketball.
McCants has played also professionally in Philippines (Globalport), Puerto Rico (Caciques and Quebradillas) and NBA (Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings).
Rashad can be described as: A great scorer who can score in a variety of ways. Very quick and strong. Excellent athlete who can finish in traffic. Great shooting stroke, he can hit the three pointer with consistency. A true scoring machine who doesn't miss when he is in the zone. Smart player who knows how to play the game. He is a capable passer and a good ball handler.
