Brazilian Paulista round 5 best performance: Lucas Cipolini (by Interperformances) - Aug 8, 2018

  follow us on Facebook Twitter

International Power forward Lucas Cipolini (206-PF-86) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Franca, receiving a Interperformances Paulista Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, nine rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Corinthians (#9, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 82-76. Franca maintains the 2nd position in Brazilian Paulista. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Franca already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Cipolini had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Franca, through which he has constantly improved. Former BYU-Hawaii star has very solid stats this year. Cipolini is in league's top in points (5th best: 17.7ppg), rebounds (4th best: 8.3rpg) and averages impressive 70.0% FGP and 77.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 31-year old Pedro Lima (191-SG-87) of Sao Jose. Lima had a very good evening with 21 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Sao Jose lost that game 79-94 to slightly higher-ranked Pinheiros (#3, 3-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Sao Jose still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 2-1 record is not bad at all. Lima is a newcomer at Sao Jose, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#4).

Third on the list of top players last round was another Franca's star - international forward Lucas Silva (209-F-95). Silva scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was another key player of Franca, helping his team with a 82-76 win against Corinthians (#9, 0-3). Franca started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Silva turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Silva has a great season in Brazil. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.7ppg (best scorer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kenny Dawkins (175-PG-87) of Pinheiros - 25 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
