LUCAS MARIANO

International Lucas Mariano (208-C/F-93) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Bauru and that's him to receive a Interperformances Paulista Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 25-year old had a double-double of 25 points and sixteen rebounds, while his team beat Sao Jose (#6, 2-2) 81-69. It allowed Bauru to consolidate first place in the Brazilian Paulista. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Bauru already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Mariano had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Bauru's top player in his first season with the team. Mariano has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 16.8ppg), rebounds (8th best: 8.0rpg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 52.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old guard Rafael Castellon (192-G-85) of Osasco B.. Castellon impressed basketball fans with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Osasco B. lost that game 76-81 to the higher-ranked Pinheiros (#4, 3-1). Osasco B. are still at the very bottom. 5 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Castellon is a newcomer at Osasco B. and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Douglas Nunes (208-PF-87) of Sao Jose (#6). Nunes showcased his all-around game by recording 13 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. Despite Nunes' great performance Sao Jose lost 69-81 to the league's current leader Bauru (#1, 4-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Sao Jose needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Nunes has a great season in Brazil. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.3rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Luis Gustavo de Oliveira (190-G-91) of Bauru - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Antonio Ferreira (200-F/G-94) of Paulistano - 13 points and 10 rebounds
6. Leonardo Jacon (199-SF-96) of Osasco B. - 17 points and 7 rebounds
7. Marcus Vinicius Toledo (201-F-86) of Pinheiros - 17 points and 6 rebounds
8. Andre Bresolin (195-SG-87) of Franca - 11 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Betinho Nardi Duarte (195-SG-88) of Pinheiros - 24 points and 3 rebounds
10. Leonardo Meindl (201-SF-93) of Paulistano - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over. With more than forty-eight years of experience, INTERPERFORMANCES is well known to all professional teams and clubs. General Managers trust and rely on our opinions and recommendations.

Romario Veber comes back to Joinville - 1 day ago
Basquete Joinville/AABJ (NBB) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old point guard Romario Veber (185-91). It is actually his comeback to Joinville as he has played here before. Veber played in the summer at ADIEE / Avai / FME in Brazilian Catarinese. He also played for Brusque (Liga Ouro) where in 8 games he recorded 6.9ppg, 1.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.6spg in 2017 season. The other team Veber played shortly was ADIEE / Avai / FME (also in Catarinese). He helped his team to make i...   [read more]

Brazilian Paulista round 8 best performance: Ulisses Lima (by Interperformances) - 1 day ago
Ulisses Lima (198-SF-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for America Esporte Club, receiving a Interperformances Paulista Player of the Week award for round 8. The 33-year old player was the main contributor (18 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Osasco B. (#10, 0-6), the league's bottom-ranked team 81-77. America is placed at 8th position in Brazilian Paulista. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently rank...   [read more]

Paulista Round 8: America records their first victory - 2 days ago
Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. America has finally registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Osasco B. (0-6) 81-77 on Saturday. 28 personal fouls committed by Osasco B. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Ulisses Lima (198-85) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and power...   [read more]
