   #1. This week's number one is former international forward Leonardo Demetrio (208-94, currently plays in Spain). He could not help RETAbet BB (8-3) in their last game. Despite Demetrio's very good performance RETAbet BB was edged 77-76 at home by the much lower-ranked (#13) Araberri. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Demetrio also added 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in a mere 18 minutes on the court. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Demetrio's first year with the team. This season he averages: 8.9ppg, 3.4rpg, 2FGP: 78.6%(22-28), 3FGP: 57.1% and FT: 75.0% in seven games he played so far. Demetrio played for the Brazilian senior national team two years ago.

Marcelinho Huertas

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, currently plays in Euroleague). He was not able to help Baskonia in their game against Anadolu Efes (7-2) in the Euroleague. Huertas recorded 8 points. Baskonia was defeated 96-85 on the road by the much higher-ranked Anadolu Efes (#4). Huertas' overall stats this season are: 6.4ppg, 1.2rpg, 3.1apg, 2FGP: 64.5%(20-31), 3FGP: 46.2%(6-13) and FT: 85.7%. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Italian. Huertas is in the roster of the Brazilian senior national team.

   #3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U18 international center Lucas Siewert (202-97, currently plays college basketball in the States). He led Colorado to an easy victory against the University of Portland crushing them 93-69 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Siewert had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 10 rebounds in 27 minutes. The University of Colorado has conference record this season. Siewert has relatively good stats this year: 14.2ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 63.0%(17-27), 3FGP: 63.6%(14-22) and FT: 64.3% in six games. He played for the Brazilian U18 national team four years ago.

   #4. Point guard Raul Neto (185-92, currently plays in NBA) led Utah Jazz to a victory against the Brooklyn Nets (8-17) 101-91 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Neto recorded 11 points. The Utah Jazz has 11-13 record this season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Neto has been at the team for four years. His overall stats this season are: 4.7ppg and 2.3apg. Neto used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2016.

   #5. Former U18 international forward Tulio Da Silva (201-96, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to secure a victory for the Missouri St. in their last game. Despite his very good performance his team was crushed 101-77 on their home court in Springfield by the Oregon State University. Da Silva scored 21 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 34 minutes. It's Da Silva's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Da Silva averages: 16.7ppg, 7.0rpg and 2.0apg in three games. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team four years ago.

   #6. Power forward Michael Uchendu (208-98, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Real Canoe (5-6) crushing them 85-59 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Sunday night's game. Uchendu scored 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 28 minutes. Leyma Basquet Coruna (2-7) is placed 12th in the LEB Gold. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. This year Uchendu's overall stats are: 7.9ppg and 6.6rpg in 11 games. He is U21 international player who is currently on the Brazilian National Team roster.

   #7. Former international center Nene Hilario (211-82, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Houston Rockets in a victory against the Chicago Bulls (5-19) 121-105 in the NBA on Saturday night. He recorded only 4 points in 12 minutes. It was his first game for Houston Rockets this season. His team have 11-12 record this season. Hilario used to play for the Brazilian national team two years ago.

Forward Rafael Monteiro (193-98, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to an Augusta University's victory against the Georgia College & State University 74-69 in the NCAA2 in Saturday night's game. He scored 19 points, had 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. The Augusta University has record this season. This year Monteiro has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg and 6.3rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team back in 2016.

Former international power forward Cristiano Felicio (206-92, college: Oregon, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Chicago Bulls (5-19) in their game against the Detroit Pistons (13-8) in the NBA. Felicio scored only 4 points in 3 minutes on the court. The Chicago Bulls (5-19) were badly defeated 107-88 in Detroit by the Pistons. It was Bulls' sixth consecutive loss in a row. This year Felicio's total stats are: 3.6ppg and 3.5rpg in 18 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team two years ago.

   #10. Center Felipe Braga (213-94, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Un.Oviedo (1-7) in their game against Culleredo (6-2) in the Spanish EBA (fourth division). Braga was the second best scorer with 9 points. He also added 16 rebounds. But the 13th-placed Un.Oviedo (1-7) was crushed 74-49 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked Culleredo (#4) in the Group A-B. Braga has reliable stats this season: 14.5ppg, 13.5rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5bpg. He is a former U19 international player as five years ago he still played for the Brazilian national team.

   #11. Former U18 international power forward Victor Bafutto (208-98, is currently at the American university) contributed to an easy victory against the Brewton-Parker College crushing them 90-65 in the NCAA in Tuesday night's game. Bafutto recorded 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Bafutto has averaged so far 3.6ppg and 1.1rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team two years ago.

   #12. Former U19 international power forward Wesley Sena (210-96, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help CB Prat in their game against Palencia Baloncesto in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Sena scored 7 points in 17 minutes. His team was crushed by 43 points 98-55. Sena has averaged so far 5.8ppg and 5.0rpg in nine games. He used to play for the Brazilian U19 national team back in 2013.

   #13. Former international guard Carlos Cobos (193-88, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Leyma Basquet crushing them 93-59 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Tuesday night. Cobos recorded 7 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Cobos has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 2.9rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg. He used to play for the Brazilian national team eight years ago.

   #14. Former U19 international forward Dimitris Sousa (198-94, college: Virginia-Wise, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a Moncada AGR's victory against the 14th-ranked Bertram TRT 71-60 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) last Sunday. He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Sousa has averaged so far 5.2ppg and 2.7rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian U19 national team back in 2009.

   #15. International guard Danilo Fuzaro (193-94, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Castello in their game against Araberri in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Fuzaro scored 7 points. His team was edged 80-78. Fuzaro has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 1.7rpg, 1.9apg and 1.4spg. He used to play for the Brazilian national team last year.


The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams:

   #1. Oscar Da Silva (207-PF-98, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Stanford to a victory against the Portland State University 79-67 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Da Silva scored 12 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, passed 4 assists and added 4 blocks. The Stanford University has conference record this season. Da Silva's overall stats this year are: 7.0ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1bpg. He has a dual citizenship: German and Brazilian. Despite Da Silva's Brazilian passport, he currently plays for the German U19 national team and is not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

   #2. Felipe Dos Anjos (218-C-98, currently plays in Spain) led Melilla Baloncesto to a victory over the closely-ranked Carramimbre (6-5) 79-72 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Tuesday. Dos Anjos was MVP of the game. He recorded 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Melilla Baloncesto (6-5) is placed seventh in the LEB Gold. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Dos Anjos' total stats this season are: 9.1ppg and 4.7rpg.

   #3. Lazaro Rojas (211-F-96, currently studies in the States) contributed to a 3-point Fresno St.'s victory against the University of Pacific 81-78 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Rojas scored 9 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks. The Fresno State University has conference record this season. Rojas has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 3.0rpg.

   #4. Ayan Carvalho (196-G/F-97, college: Temple, currently plays in Argentina) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Centro Espanol Plottier (6-6) crushing them 94-64 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) in Monday night's game. He scored 11 points in 24 minutes. Deportivo Viedma Rio Negro (8-3) is placed first in South - South group. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Carvalho has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.5apg in 11 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Argentinian. Despite Carvalho's Brazilian nationality, he currently plays for the Argentinian university national team and cannot be called to the Brazilian team.

   #5. Experienced Sidnei De Santana (216-C-83, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an Fontedoso Carrefour's victory against the seventh-ranked Zornotza (6-5) 91-87 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Saturday night. De Santana scored 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 15 minutes. Avila Autentica Carrefour (5-6) is placed eighth in West group. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. De Santana has averaged so far 9.6ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.2apg in 10 games. He has both Brazilian and Spanish nationalities.

   #6. Luis Rossi (193-F, currently plays in NAIA). Rossi could not help the St. Andrews University to beat the Columbia International University. He scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. His team lost 70-79 in the AAC. Rossi has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 2.9rpg, 3.3apg and 1.3spg in 11 games.

   #7. Gabriel De Oliveira (206-PF-97, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel 83-65 in the German ProB (third division) on Saturday night. De Oliveira scored 15 points in 25 minutes. De Oliveira's stats this year are: 12.2ppg and 5.1rpg in 11 games. He also holds two passports: Brazilian and German.

   #8. Matheus Maciel (207-C-1, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Unicaja-Andalucia in their game against Martos in the Spanish EBA (fourth division). Maciel scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. His team was defeated 89-81. Maciel has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 5.6rpg.

   #9. Filipe Goncalves (190-G-93, college: Cleveland St. CC, currently plays in NAIA) contributed to a 2-point Truett-McConnell College's victory against the Morris College 92-90 in the AAC in Saturday night's game. He scored 22 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 26 minutes. Goncalves has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 5.6rpg in nine games.

   #10. Vitor Haefeli (208-F/C, currently plays in NAIA) was not able to secure a victory for the Friends College in their game against the York College, NE in the KCAC. He scored 6 points. His team was defeated 92-88 in the KCAC. Haefeli has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 5.6rpg.

Franca - Flamengo 77-71 Franca topped Flamengo for the second straight win in the NBB Finals. The hosts trailed by 17 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Vivo/Franca dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Flamengo's 22. Franca - Flamengo 88-79 Franca outscored Flamengo to draw things even in the title series. Flamengo trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 79-88 at the end of the game.
