There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, derby games and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Top ranked Vivo/Franca (10-2) recorded its second loss in Sao Paulo on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Pinheiros (8-3) 91-79. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Vivo/Franca. The best player for the winners was American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) who scored 21 points. Guard Felipe Ruivo (189-98) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pinheiros have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Vivo/Franca at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Pinheiros are looking forward to face Botafogo F.R. (#6) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round. Vivo/Franca will have a break next round.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Rio de Janeiro: Flamengo (#2) and Botafogo F.R. (#6). Flamengo (9-3) smashed visiting Botafogo F.R. (6-6) by 29 points 102-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Botafogo F.R.. It was a good game for the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!) Flamengo's coach Gustavo Conti felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Jamaal Smith (175-85, college: N.Mexico) replied with 21 points and 5 assists for Botafogo F.R.Flamengo maintains second position with 9-3 record behind leader Franca. Botafogo F.R. at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Flamengo's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Rio de Janeiro to the arena .
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Paulistano (7-4) against eleventh ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (4-8) on Thursday night. Visiting Paulistano was crushed by Paschoalotto/Bauru in Bauru 85-64. Worth to mention a great performance of Jefferson Andrade who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds.
