MARQUINHOS VIEIRA

Experienced Former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-SF-84) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Flamengo and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 34-year old had the game-high 35 points adding two rebounds and two assists for Flamengo in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Botafogo F.R. (#6, 6-6) with 29-point margin 102-73. Flamengo maintains the 2nd position in Brazilian NBB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Flamengo will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. In the team's last game Vieira had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at Flamengo, through which he has constantly improved. Marquinhos Vieira averages this season 15.2ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old forward Wesley Ferreira (201-F-95) of Minas. Ferreira impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Minas cruised to a 85-77 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Botafogo F.R. (#6, 6-6). Minas' 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ferreira is one of the most experienced players at Minas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Farad Cobb (183-PG-93) of B.Cearense (#12). Cobb showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of B.Cearense, leading his team to a 76-63 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Brasilia (#14, 2-8). The chances of B.Cearense not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Cobb could try to bring B.Cearense's a little bit higher in the standings. Cobb has a very solid season. In 12 games in Brazil he scored 11.8ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Douglas Kurtz (213-C-87) of B.Cearense - 19 points and 16 rebounds
5. Zach Graham (198-G-89) of Brasilia - 23 points and 4 rebounds
6. Arthur Pecos (183-PG-94) of Mogi - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Felipe Ribeiro (201-F-79) of B.Cearense - 14 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Guilherme Teichmann (206-PF-83) of Corinthians - 8 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists
9. Luis Felipe Gruber (206-SF-85) of Mogi - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Kyle Fuller (185-PG-92) of Corinthians - 25 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over.
