Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game in Belo Horizonte was quite interesting. Third ranked Flamengo (10-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Minas (5-7). Flamengo defeated Minas 91-80 on Saturday. Flamengo made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Flamengo outrebounded Minas 44-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Argentinian point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 8 rebounds and 15 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) chipped in 26 points during the contest. The former international point guard George-Yeye Torres (188-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Flamengo moved-up to second place, which they share with Pinheiros. Minas lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Corinthians. Flamengo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Minas will play on the road against Corinthians (#7) in Sao Paulo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Fourteenth-ranked Brasilia (3-10) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Paulistano (9-4) in Sao Paulo. Paulistano managed to secure only one-point victory 83-82. However their fans expected much easier game. International Leonardo Meindl (201-93) notched 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Georginho de-Paula supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Paulistano's coach Regis Marrelli used entire bench in such tough game. Even a double-double of 15 points and 12 assists by the former international point guard Welington Dos-Santos (185-81) did not help to save the game for Brasilia. Paulistano moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Mogi. Newly promoted Brasilia stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Paulistano will play against SKY/Basquete (#10) in Aldeota in the next round where they are favorite. Brasilia will have a break next round.

Vasco Da G. at the other side keeps the twelfth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Bauru. Mogi will meet at home Sao Jose (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Vasco Da G. will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 14 Bauru lost to Corinthians on the opponent's court 83-87.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points and 13 rebounds by Windi Graterol of Brasilia.



Vasco Da G. - Mogi 75-88

12th ranked Vasco Da G. (4-9) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Mogi (9-4) with the biggest margin this round 88-75 on Friday night. Mogi outrebounded Vasco Da G. 39-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Luis-Felipe Gruber (206-85) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF) chipped in 24 points. Five Mogi players scored in double figures. Germerson Barbosa (202-93) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Caio Torres (211-87, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Rather expected game in Sao Paulo where 12th ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (4-9) was defeated by tenth ranked Corinthians (5-7) 87-83 on Saturday. Corinthians made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Uruguayan point guard Luciano Parodi (182-94) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in 27 points and 5 rebounds. The former international point guard Fulvio de-Assis (188-81) produced 21 points and 8 assists and the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) added 17 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests.
