Here is the weekly review of the top performing Brazilian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, currently plays in Spain). He contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Unicaja Malaga (9-4) 81-64 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Huertas recorded 9 points and added 6 assists in 24 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Kirolbet Baskonia Vitoria (10-3) is placed second in the Liga Endesa. This year Huertas averages: 7.7ppg, 2.0rpg, 4.7apg, 2FGP: 62.0%(31-50), 3FGP: 42.1% in 13 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Italian. Huertas is currently a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to U21 international point guard Caio Pacheco (190-99, currently plays in Argentina). He managed to help Bahia Basket in a victory against the ninth-ranked Libertad Sunchales (3-3) 84-72 in the Argentinian La Liga on Monday night. Pacheco recorded 5 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 31 minutes. Bahia Basket (1-3) is placed 16th in the La Liga. But the season just started, so everything may happen. This year Pacheco's overall stats are: 5.0ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.3apg, 2FGP: 26.7%, 3FGP: 26.7% in four games. He is in the roster of the Brazilian U21 national team.

   #3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: N.Mexico St., currently plays in Uruguay). Passos contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Atenas (6-9) crushing them 87-55 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB in Friday night's game. He scored 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Malvin Montevideo (5-4) is placed fourth in the LUB. Passos' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Passos has relatively good stats this season: 10.8ppg, 10.9rpg, 2FGP: 58.5%(48-82) and FT: 67.3%. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Uruguayan. Former Paulistano/Unimed Sao Paolo starter played for the Brazilian national team eight years ago.

Dida Pereira

   #4. Center Dida Pereira (202-92, college: Sequoias CC, currently plays in Chile) led Osorno Basquetbol to a 2-point victory over the second-ranked Universidad de Concepcion (9-8) 78-76 in the Chilean Liga Nacional on Friday night. Pereira was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 13 rebounds. Pereira also added 3 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Osorno Basquetbol (7-11) is placed sixth in Conferencia Sur. It's Pereira's first year with the team. Pereira has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.7ppg, 8.1rpg and 1.5apg. Pereira used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team back in 2010.

   #5. Former U18 international forward Tulio Da Silva (201-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Missouri St. to an easy victory against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff crushing them 93-72 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. He scored 22 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 30 minutes. The Missouri State University has conference record this season. Da Silva has very impressive stats this year: 16.4ppg and 6.6rpg in seven games. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team four years ago.

   #6. Forward Leonardo Demetrio (208-94, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a RETAbet BB's victory against the closely-ranked Melilla Baloncesto (8-6) 76-63 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Friday. Demetrio scored 10 points. RETAbet Bilbao Basket (10-4) is placed fourth in the LEB Gold. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Demetrio's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 7.8ppg and 3.9rpg. Demetrio is a former international player as he played for the Brazilian senior team two years ago.

International shooting guard Vitor Benite (192-90, currently plays in Spain) helped Burgos win their game against the closely-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (5-8) 89-80 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Saturday night's game. Benite recorded 8 points. It was his first game for Burgos this season. His team is placed 13th in the Liga Endesa. Benite is also Brazilian national team player.

   #8. Center Nene Hilario (211-82, currently plays in NBA) helped Houston Rockets win their game against the Utah Jazz (16-18) 102-97 in the NBA last Monday. He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 13 minutes. The Houston Rockets have 17-15 record this season. This year Hilario's total stats are: 4.5ppg and 3.4rpg in 10 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2016.

Freire Luz recorded only 2 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. MoraBanc Andorrais placed fourth in group H. Freire Luz has averaged so far 2.6ppg, 3.3rpg and 3.3apg. He is also in the roster of the Brazilian national team.

   #10. Center Augusto Lima (206-91, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Vitor Benite and both played together in the last Spanish Liga Endesa game. Lima helped Burgos win their game against the closely-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (5-8) 89-80. He recorded 7 points in only 14 minutes. It was his first game for Burgos this season. Lima is an international player who is currently on the senior Brazilian National Team roster.

   #11. Former U18 international center Lucas Siewert (202-97, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the one of league's weakest teams Colorado to beat the Indiana State University. He scored 8 points. His team was defeated 72-67. This season Siewert has relatively solid stats: 11.9ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.1apg. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team four years ago.

   #12. Former U19 international forward Dimitris Sousa (198-94, college: Virginia-Wise, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help Moncada AGR (7-6) in their last game. Despite Sousa's very good performance the ninth-placed Moncada AGR was badly defeated 90-70 on the road by the lower-ranked (#12) Pall. Trapani in the West group. He was the top scorer with 21 points in 27 minutes. Sousa has averaged so far 7.3ppg and 2.4rpg in 12 games. He used to play for the Brazilian U19 national team back in 2009.

   #13. Former U18 international forward Rafael Monteiro (193-98, currently plays in NCAA2) led Augusta University to a victory against the Young Harris College 81-70 in the NCAA2 in Monday night's game. Monteiro recorded 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Monteiro has reliable stats this season: 12.1ppg and 6.8rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team two years ago.

   #14. Former international power forward Cristiano Felicio (206-92, college: Oregon, currently plays in NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Chicago Bulls in their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA. Felicio cannot count Monday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 6 minutes on the court. His team were crushed by 25 points 121-96 in the NBA. Felicio has averaged so far 3.2ppg and 3.4rpg in 22 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2016.

   #15. Former U19 international center Felipe Braga (213-94, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in Un.Oviedo's victory against the 13th-ranked Rosalia 69-61 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Braga had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting the same number of rebounds. He also added 2 blocks in 28 minutes. Braga averaged so far 13.6ppg, 12.2rpg, 1.4apg and 2.4bpg in five games. He used to play for the Brazilian U19 national team five years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams:

   #1. Rafael Paulichi (202-PF-98, currently plays in Argentina). He could not help Bahia Basket (1-3) to beat Penarol (2-3). Paulichi scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Bahia Basket was badly defeated 84-64 on the road by the higher-ranked Penarol (#14). But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Paulichi's overall stats this year are: 4.5ppg and 2.8rpg.

   #2. Oscar Da Silva (207-PF-98, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Stanford to a victory against the San Jose State University 78-73 in the NCAA last Tuesday. Da Silva had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 10 rebounds in 38 minutes. The Stanford University has conference record this season. This year Da Silva's total stats are: 9.7ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1bpg in 11 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: German and Brazilian. Despite Da Silva's Brazilian passport, he currently plays for the German U19 national team and is not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

   #3. Diego Soarez (205-C-87, currently plays in Uruguay) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Hebraica in their game against Olimpia (10-5) in the Uruguayan LUB. He scored only 4 points in 17 minutes. Hebraica lost 83-92 in a derby game to the second-ranked Olimpia. Soarez's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Soarez's total stats are: 4.2ppg and 3.4rpg in 14 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Uruguayan.

   #4. Ayan Carvalho (196-G/F-97, college: Temple, currently plays in Argentina) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked La Union (3-1) crushing them 76-56 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) on Tuesday night. Carvalho recorded 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Deportivo Viedma Rio Negro (12-5) is placed first in South - South group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Carvalho has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.3apg. He has both Brazilian and Argentinian nationalities. Despite Carvalho's Brazilian passport, he currently plays for the Argentinian university national team and cannot be called to the Brazilian team.

   #5. Felipe Dos Anjos (218-C-98, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Melilla Baloncesto (8-6) in their game against RETAbet BB (10-4) in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Dos Anjos scored 8 points in 19 minutes. Melilla Baloncesto lost 63-76 in Bilbao to the higher-ranked (#4) RETAbet BB. Dos Anjos has averaged so far 9.5ppg and 4.9rpg in 12 games.

   #6. Victor Mijas (193-SG, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to an easy victory against the Bethesda University crushing them 120-59 in the NCAA2 on Wednesday night. He scored 9 points and added 3 passes. Mijas has averaged so far 4.0ppg and 1.6rpg.

   #7. Lucas Doria (203-F-97, currently plays in NCAA2) managed to help St. Edward's University in a victory against the Western New Mexico University 98-85 in the NCAA2 in Monday night's game. He recorded 5 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in 15 minutes. Doria has averaged so far 5.7ppg and 4.1rpg in nine games.

   #8. Paulo Scheuer (200-F-99, currently plays in Portugal) couldn't help Benfica B (3-8) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance Benfica B (#7) was badly defeated 87-67 in a derby game by the higher-ranked Academia (#3) in the South group. Scheuer was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 4 rebounds. Scheuer's stats this season are: 13.2ppg and 6.4rpg.

   #9. Experienced Kazuya Hatano (192-F-82, currently plays in Japan) couldn't help Fukuoka Rizing in their game against Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo in the Japanese B League. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Hatano recorded only 2 points in 4 minutes on the court. His team was edged 82-80. Hatano has averaged so far 2.5ppg and 1.7rpg in 23 games. He also holds two passports: Brazilian and Japanese.

   #10. Celio Araujo (178-PG, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Maine in their game against the Central Connecticut State University in the NCAA. Araujo scored 5 points in 9 minutes. His team was edged 93-90. Araujo has averaged so far 1.5ppg, 1.1rpg and 1.4apg in 10 games.

KEVIN CRESCENZI Paschoalotto/Bauru (NBB) added to their roster 26-year old naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (190-88kg-93, college: Dartmouth). He is the second import player in the roster as Argentinian Lucas Faggiano signed here earlier. Flamengo. In 30 NBB games he recorded 3.3ppg and 1.9rpg. He helped them to win the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. OLIVINHA RODRIGUEZ Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (NBB) confirmed in their roster experienced 36-year old forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-118kg-83). He has played there for the last seven seasons. Rodriguez helped them to win the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week. AUGUSTO LIMA San Pablo Inmobiliaria Miraflores Burgos (Liga Endesa) re-signed 27-year old Brazilian international center Augusto Lima (206-104kg-91). He is the second import player in the roster as Serbian Goran Huskic signed here earlier. Lima played there last season. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!).
