GUILHERME GIOVANNONI

Experienced Naturalized Italian Power forward Guilherme Giovannoni (203-PF-80) had a very impressive game in the last round for Corinthians and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 38-year old power forward had the game-high 27 points adding six rebounds and two assists for Corinthians in his team's victory, helping them to beat Minas (#8, 5-8) 97-82. Corinthians is placed at 7th position in Brazilian NBB. Corinthians is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-8 record. In the team's last game Giovannoni had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Corinthians' top player in his first season with the team. Guilherme Giovannoni averages this season 12.4ppg and 5.2rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 37-year old Italian point guard Fulvio de Assis (188-PG-81) of Bauru. de Assis impressed basketball fans with 17 points, 2 rebounds and 8 assists. It was enough for Bauru to edge slightly lower-ranked Vasco Da G. (#13, 4-10) by 6 points 88-82. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Bauru managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 11th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-9 record. de Assis is a newcomer at Bauru and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was former international Joao Paulo Batista (205-C/F-81) of Mogi (#5). Batista scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Mogi, leading his team to a 88-82 win against the lower-ranked Sao Jose (#9, 5-9). Mogi needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 4 lost games. Batista has a very solid season. In 14 games in Brazil he scored 18.6ppg. He also has 8.3rpg and FGP: 59.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kyle Fuller (185-PG-92) of Corinthians - 26 points and 3 rebounds
5. Fabian Sahdi (186-PG-89) of Sao Jose - 8 points, 6 rebounds and 15 assists
6. Leonardo Meindl (201-SF-93) of Paulistano - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Luis Felipe Gruber (206-SF-85) of Mogi - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Shilton Santos (198-F/C-82) of Corinthians - 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Felipe Ribeiro (201-F-79) of B.Cearense - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Caio Torres (211-C-87) of Vasco Da G. - 18 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
