Lucas Silva
LUCAS SILVA

International Forward Lucas Silva (209-F-95) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Franca, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, seven rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Botafogo F.R. (#7, 6-9) 71-69. It allowed Franca to take over top position in the Brazilian NBB. Franca have a solid 13-2 record. In the team's last game Silva had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Franca's top player in his first season with the team. Lucas Silva has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 15.9ppg) and averages impressive 69.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Kyle Fuller (185-PG-92) of Corinthians. Fuller had a very good evening with 32 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Corinthians was edged by the higher-ranked Pinheiros (#2, 13-3) 80-77. Corinthians managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-10 record. Fuller is a newcomer at Corinthians, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.3ppg (#1).

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Nick Okorie (185-G-88) of Vasco Da G. (#11). Okorie scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Okorie's great performance Vasco Da G. lost 78-84 to the higher-ranked Franca (#1, 13-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Vasco Da G. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Okorie could try to bring Vasco Da G.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Okorie has a very solid season. In 15 games in Brazil he scored 13.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Wesley Ferreira (201-PF-95) of Minas - 23 points and 11 rebounds
5. Olivinha Rodriguez (203-F-83) of Flamengo - 22 points and 8 rebounds
6. Marquinhos Vieira (207-SF-84) of Flamengo - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Zach Graham (198-G-89) of Brasilia - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Fabian Sahdi (186-PG-89) of Sao Jose - 19 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Shamell Stallworth (195-SG-80) of Mogi - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Dominique Coleman (198-G/F-88) of Minas - 26 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
