There were just three rounds played in Regular Season of Liga Ouro and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Sao Paulo FC (2-1) at the home court on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by Campo Mourao (3-0) 73-72. It was a good game for forward Cesar Araujo (201-81) who saved his team from a defeat with 15 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Wesley Russell (193-93, college: Ohio Christian) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Center Joao Vitor (213-98) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds for Sao Paulo FC. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Campo Mourao is looking forward to face Rio Claro (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sao Paulo FC will play against Londrina (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Cerrado (3-1) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging Pato Basquete (0-3) 81-80 on Monday evening. It was a great evening for point guard Patrick Vieira (186-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Danilo Sena helped adding 14 points. The best for the losing side was Eric Soares (205-86) with 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cerrado will play against UniFacisa (#5) in the next round. Pato Basquete will play against Blumenau and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Rio Claro was also quite interesting. Londrina (3-0) played at the court of Rio Claro (0-3). Londrina defeated Rio Claro 71-58 on Tuesday. It was an exceptional evening for Stefano Pierotti who led the winners and scored 9 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Londrina's coach Bruno Cesar Lopes used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Luis-Fernando Sacco came up with 21 points for Rio Claro in the defeat. Londrina will meet Sao Paulo FC (#4) on the road in the next round. Rio Claro will play against Campo Mourao (#1) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
