DOMINIC PHILLIPS

American Point guard Dominic Phillips (180-PG-91) had a great game in the last round for Pato Basquete, receiving a Interperformances Liga Ouro Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (37 points, six rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Blumenau (#8, 0-4) with 30-point margin 101-71. Pato Basquete is placed at 6th position in Brazilian Liga Ouro. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Phillips had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He just recently signed at Pato Basquete, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Harris-Stowe State University star has very solid stats this year. Phillips is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.8ppg), assists (6th best: 4.3apg) and averages impressive 41.7% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old American Cameron Tatum (200-SF-88) of Rio Claro. Tatum had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Rio Claro to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Campo Mourao (#3, 3-1) 105-72. This victory allowed Rio Claro to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 7th position in the standings. 3 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Rio Claro managed to get this year. Tatum is a newcomer at Rio Claro and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Rio Claro's star - American forward Drew Maynard (200-F-89). Maynard scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was another key player of Rio Claro, helping his team with a 105-72 easy win against the higher-ranked Campo Mourao (#3, 3-1). Rio Claro can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Maynard he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Maynard has individually a great season in Brazil. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 9.3rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Patrick Vieira (186-PG-93) of Cerrado - 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Gabriel De Oliveira (191-G-96) of Londrina - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Danilo Sena (195-SG-99) of Cerrado - 15 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Joao Vitor (213-C-98) of Sao Paulo FC - 13 points and 11 rebounds
8. Aquiles Ferreira (195-G-98) of Londrina - 11 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Andre Liuz de Oliveira (205-C/F-84) of Blumenau - 4 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Wesley Russell (193-G-93) of Campo Mourao - 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
