Here is the weekly review of the top performing Brazilian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-83, currently plays in Spain). He led Baskonia to an easy victory against the 14th-ranked Leche Rio Breogan (7-14) 90-72 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Huertas recorded 11 points, 3 assists and 3 steals in a mere 19 minutes on the court. Kirolbet Baskonia Vitoria (16-6) is placed third in the Liga Endesa. This year Huertas averages: 7.8ppg, 2.3rpg, 4.8apg, 2FGP: 54.4%, 3FGP: 36.1% in 22 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Italian. Huertas is currently a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

He led his Spanish team Andorra to a victory over the leader ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (5-1) 98-79 in the Eurocup last Friday. Freire Luz was MVP of the game. He scored 17 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group H. MoraBanc Andorra (5-1) is placed second. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. It's Freire Luz's first season with the team. Freire Luz's overall stats this year are: 4.0ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.2apg, 2FGP: 53.3%, 3FGP: 20.7% and FT: 78.3%. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Spanish. Freire Luz is in the roster of the Brazilian senior national team.

   #3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international shooting guard Vitor Benite (192-90, currently plays in Spain). He could not help Burgos (9-13) in their last game. Despite Benite's very good performance Burgos lost 88-97 on the road to the leading FC Barcelona. He was the second best scorer with 16 points in 26 minutes. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. Benite has relatively good stats this year: 11.6ppg, 2.1rpg, 2FGP: 42.5%, 3FGP: 43.1% and FT: 76.2% in 10 games. He is also a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

   #4. Power forward Cristiano Felicio (206-92, college: Oregon, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Chicago Bulls in their game against the Detroit Pistons (34-31) in the NBA. Felicio scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The Chicago Bulls (19-49) were crushed 131-108 in Detroit by the Pistons. Felicio's overall stats this season are: 3.2ppg and 2.8rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2016.

Malvin Montevideo (2-0) is placed first. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. This year Passos has relatively solid stats: 10.6ppg, 10.3rpg and 1.3apg in 24 games. He has both Brazilian and Uruguayan nationalities. Passos used to play for the Brazilian national team nine years ago.

Hilario's overall stats this season are: 3.7ppg and 3.0rpg. He is a former international player as he played for the Brazilian senior team three years ago.

Burgos was defeated 97-88 in Barcelona by the leading FC Barcelona. Lima's overall stats this season are: 6.3ppg and 5.2rpg. He is also Brazilian national team player.

Braga recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 17 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks. AD Universidad de Oviedo (8-12) is placed tenth in Group A-B. Braga averaged so far 12.2ppg, 13.6rpg, 1.3apg and 2.6bpg. He used to play for the Brazilian U19 national team six years ago.

   #10. Small forward Bruno Caboclo (206-95, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Memphis Grizzlies in a victory against the Orlando Magic (31-37) 105-97 in the NBA last Sunday. Siewert recorded 5 points and added 3 passes. Siewert averaged so far 10.1ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.6apg. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team five years ago.

   #12. Former international forward Leonardo Demetrio (208-94, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help RETAbet BB in their game against Palma in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Demetrio recorded only 2 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 21 minutes. His team was crushed by 22 points 67-45. This year his total stats are: 8.0ppg and 4.8rpg in 21 games. Demetrio used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2016.

   #13. U21 international point guard Caio Pacheco (190-99, currently plays in Argentina) helped Bahia Basket edge the second-ranked Ferro 74-72 in the Argentinian La Liga in Wednesday night's game. He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Pacheco has averaged so far 5.9ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.6apg. He is also Brazilian U21 national team player.

   #14. U21 international power forward Michael Uchendu (208-98, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Leyma Basquet in their game against Ourense in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). He recorded 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 23 minutes. His team lost 63-78. Uchendu has averaged so far 7.1ppg and 6.3rpg in 25 games. He plays currently for the Brazilian U21 national team.

   #15. Former U19 international forward Dimitris Sousa (198-94, college: Virginia-Wise, currently plays in Italy) helped Moncada AGR win their game against the eighth-ranked Givova Scafati 91-72 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) last Sunday. Sousa scored 11 points. Sousa has averaged so far 8.3ppg and 3.0rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian U19 national team ten years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams:

   #1. Gabriel Da Silva (206-C-96, currently plays in Argentina) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Comunicaciones (10-10) crushing them 86-57 in the Argentinian La Liga in Wednesday night's game. Da Silva scored 7 points in only 9 minutes. Quimsa Santiago del Estero (1-1) is placed third in the La Liga. This year Da Silva's overall stats are: 1.2ppg and 1.3rpg in 15 games he played so far.

   #2. Oscar Da Silva (207-PF-98, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Stanford (8-9) to beat the University of California (9-9). Da Silva recorded 7 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks (made all of his five free throws) in 36 minutes. The Stanford lost 59-64 on the road to the University of California. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. This year Da Silva's total stats are: 9.7ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.8apg and 1.3bpg in 30 games. He has a dual citizenship: German and Brazilian. Despite Da Silva's Brazilian passport, he previously played for the German U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

   #3. Lucas Doria (203-F-97, currently plays in NCAA2) led St. Edward's University to a victory against the Saint Mary's (TX) University (4-12) 87-78 in the NCAA2 last Thursday. Doria recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals. The St. Edward's University has a very good 14-2 record this season. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA2 Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Doria is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in St. Edward's University's roster. Doria's total stats this season are: 7.6ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.2spg.

   #4. Diego Soarez (205-C-87, currently plays in Uruguay) was not able to help Hebraica in their game against Bigua (2-1) in the Uruguayan LUB. Soarez cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 4 minutes on the court. The third-placed Hebraica (1-8) lost 95-103 in a derby game to the second-ranked Bigua in the Places 7-10 group. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. Soarez has averaged so far 4.2ppg and 3.6rpg in 28 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Uruguayan.

   #5. Felipe Dos Anjos (218-C-98, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 1-point Melilla Baloncesto's victory against the tenth-ranked Magia Huesca (14-11) 88-87 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night. Dos Anjos recorded 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Melilla Baloncesto (17-8) is placed second in the LEB Gold. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Dos Anjos has averaged so far 8.9ppg and 5.4rpg.

   #6. Joao Gallina (192-SF-94, currently plays in Portugal) was not able to secure a victory for CAB Madeira in their game against FC Porto in the Portuguese LPB. Gallina recorded 6 points. His team was crushed by 32 points 93-61. Gallina has averaged so far 6.3ppg and 2.1rpg. He has both Brazilian and Portuguese nationalities. Despite Gallina's Brazilian passport, he previously played for the Portuguese U20 national team and probably cannot be called to the Brazilian team.

   #7. Victor Mijas (193-SG, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Humboldt State University in their game against the California State Polytechnica Un. Pomona in the NCAA2. Mijas scored 8 points. His team was badly defeated by 18 points 85-67 in the NCAA2. Mijas has averaged so far 3.7ppg and 1.4rpg.

   #8. Ayan Carvalho (196-G/F-97, college: Temple, currently plays in Argentina) managed to help Deportivo Viedma Rio Negro to win against the fifth-ranked Petrolero crushing them 92-63 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) last Friday. He scored only 3 points. Carvalho has averaged so far 7.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg. He also holds two passports: Brazilian and Argentinian.

   #9. Lazaro Rojas (211-F-96, currently studies in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the San Jose State University crushing them 121-81 in the NCAA on Saturday night. Rojas scored only 4 points in 6 minutes on the court. Rojas has averaged so far 2.8ppg and 2.2rpg in 25 games.

   #10. Gabriel De Oliveira (206-PF-97, currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in Iserlohn's victory against the fifth-ranked FC Bayern II 87-85 in the German ProB (third division) in Saturday night's game. He scored 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. De Oliveira averaged so far 10.6ppg and 5.4rpg. He has dual citizenship: Brazilian and German.

Franca - Flamengo 77-71 Franca topped Flamengo for the second straight win in the NBB Finals. The hosts trailed by 17 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Flamengo trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 79-88 at the end of the game.
