There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in NBB. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Round in NBB means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Brasilia where host Brasilia (9-15) beat league's leader Pinheiros (20-5) 81-77 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pinheiros. Brasilia dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Pinheiros' 24 and made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan center Windi Graterol (204-86, agency: Pro Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. The former international point guard Welington Dos-Santos (185-81) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) who recorded 20 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Brasilia moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Sao Jose. Pinheiros at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Flamengo. Pinheiros will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Brasilia will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Flamengo as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Flamengo defeated 10th ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru in Rio de Janeiro 80-72. It was a good game for the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Marquinhos Vieira contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Fulvio de-Assis (188-81) replied with 13 points for Paschoalotto/Bauru. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flamengo (20-4) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Paschoalotto/Bauru at the other side dropped to the ninth place with 14 games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play next round against Joinville trying to get back on the winning streak. Flamengo will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Brasilia at home.
Eleventh-ranked SKY/Basquete (8-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Pinheiros (20-5) in Aldeota on Thursday. The visitors from Sao Paulo managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of Kenny Dawkins who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Paulinho Boracini with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Despite that victory Pinheiros went down to second position due to points difference. Loser SKY/Basquete dropped to the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Pinheiros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SKY/Basquete will play against Minas (#7) in Belo Horizonte and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Joinville. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Sao Jose (9-15) to thirteenth ranked Joinville (5-19) 87-84 on Monday evening. The winners were led by Thiago Mathias who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Joinville's coach Daniel Lazier allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Joinville maintains thirteenth position with 5-19 record, which they share with Vasco Da G. Sao Jose lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Joinville's next round opponent will be higher ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (#9) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Rio de Janeiro. Local Vasco Da G. (5-19) was outscored by second ranked Flamengo (20-4) 107-67 on Saturday night. The best player for the winners was Marquinhos Vieira who scored 25 points and 6 assists. They keep a position of league leader. Vasco Da G. lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 19 games lost. Flamengo will face Brasilia (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vasco Da G. will play against Corinthians in Sao Paulo and hope to win that game.

Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Joinville maintains thirteenth position with 5-19 record, which they share with Vasco Da G. Sao Jose lost third consecutive game.
