The Regular Season in NBB just ended. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

NBB top team - Flamengo (22-4) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they beat twelfth ranked SKY/Basquete (8-18) in Rio de Janeiro 100-82. Flamengo looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-92) chipped in 13 points during the contest. Naturalized Italian point guard Paulinho Boracini (183-84) responded with 14 points and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flamengo have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-4 record. SKY/Basquete lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 18 games lost.
The game in Sao Paulo was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Botafogo F.R. (12-14) played at the court of seventh ranked Corinthians (12-14). Corinthians managed to secure a 7-point victory 84-77. The former international point guard Humberto Silva (195-95) notched 18 points to lead the effort and Kyle Fuller supported him with 21 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Even 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by guard Caue Borges dos Santos (187-91) did not help to save the game for Botafogo F.R.. Corinthians have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Botafogo F.R.
An interesting game took place in Belo Horizonte where 8th ranked Minas (11-15) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Brasilia (10-16) 74-68 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was Welington Dos-Santos who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 assists. Dominique Coleman produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Minas' coach Espiga Soares rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Brasilia moved-up to tenth place. Minas at the other side keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Bauru.
Third ranked Pinheiros (21-5) crushed at home 14th ranked Vasco Da G. (5-21) by 32 points 112-80, which is the biggest margin this round. Kenny Dawkins orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 4 assists. Pinheiros' coach Cesar Guidetti felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinheiros maintains third position with 21-5 record behind leader Flamengo. Vasco Da G. lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 26: Mogi won against Bauru on the opponent's court 96-81. Franca managed to outperform Joinville in a home game 84-72. Paulistano managed to beat Sao Jose on the road 73-65.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points by Georginho de-Paula of Paulistano.



Bauru - Mogi 81-96

Very expected game when 9th ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (11-15) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Mogi (17-9) 96-81. Mogi shot 61.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Mogi players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. International point guard Arthur Pecos (183-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. The former international power forward Joao-Paulo Batista (205-81, college: Gonzaga) contributed with 22 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international Jefferson Andrade (207-83) replied with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Paschoalotto/Bauru. Five Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. Paschoalotto/Bauru's coach tested ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mogi maintains fourth position with 17-9 record. Paschoalotto/Bauru at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 15 games lost.

Franca - Joinville 84-72

Very predictable result in Sao Paulo where second ranked Vivo/Franca (23-3) defeated 13th ranked Joinville (5-21) 84-72. Vivo/Franca have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 23-3 record having just one point less than leader Flamengo. Joinville lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 21 games lost.

Corinthians - Botafogo F.R. 84-77

The game in Sao Paulo was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked Botafogo F.R. (12-14) played at the court of seventh ranked Corinthians (12-14). Corinthians managed to secure a 7-point victory 84-77. Botafogo F.R. was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Corinthians made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The former international point guard Humberto Silva (195-95) notched 18 points to lead the effort and American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) supported him with 21 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Even 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by guard Caue Borges dos Santos (187-91) did not help to save the game for Botafogo F.R.. American point guard Jamaal Smith (175-85, college: N.Mexico) added 18 points for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Corinthians have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Botafogo F.R.
