   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Rafael Freire Luz (188-92, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Spain). He led Andorra to a victory over the league outsider Gipuzkoa (5-19) 84-72 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Saturday night's game. Freire Luz was MVP of the game. He recorded 19 points and added 4 assists in 22 minutes on the court. MoraBanc Andorra (14-12) is placed sixth in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Freire Luz averages: 5.2ppg, 2.5rpg, 2.3apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 44.1%, 3FGP: 37.2% and FT: 90.6%(29-32) in 25 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Spanish. Freire Luz is currently a member of the Brazilian senior national team.

Huertas recorded 14 points and added 3 assists. Kirolbet Baskonia Vitoria (18-6) is placed third in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Huertas' overall stats this season are: 8.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 4.9apg, 2FGP: 56.0%(65-116), 3FGP: 38.1%. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Italian. Huertas is in the roster of the Brazilian senior national team.

   #3. The Brazilian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international small forward Bruno Caboclo (206-95, currently plays in NBA). He was the main contributor in a Memphis Grizzlies' victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder (44-33) 115-103 in the NBA on Monday night. Caboclo was the best player in that game. He had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 11 rebounds in 35 minutes. The Memphis Grizzlies have 31-46 record this season. Caboclo has relatively good stats this year: 7.3ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 51.4%, 3FGP: 36.0% and FT: 79.5% in 29 games. He played for the Brazilian national team two years ago.

   #4. Power forward Cristiano Felicio (206-92, college: Oregon, currently plays in NBA) could not help the Chicago Bulls (21-57) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Felicio's very good performance the Chicago Bulls (21-57) were badly defeated 118-98 on the road by the Portland Trail Blazers. He scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. There are only four games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Felicio's overall stats this season are: 4.1ppg and 3.4rpg. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2016.

   #5. International shooting guard Vitor Benite (192-90, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Burgos (11-14) in their last game. Despite Benite's very good performance Burgos lost 76-84 at home to the higher-ranked (#11) Blusens Monbus. He was the second best scorer with 16 points in a mere 19 minutes. This year Benite has relatively solid stats: 12.2ppg and 2.1rpg in 13 games. He plays currently for the Brazilian national team.

   #6. Point guard Raul Neto (185-92, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Phoenix Suns (18-60) crushing them 125-92 in the NBA on Monday night. Neto scored 8 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Utah Jazz has a solid 47-30 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Neto's fourth year with the team. His overall stats this season are: 5.3ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.4apg. Neto is a former international player as he played for the Brazilian senior team three years ago.

   #7. Former international center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: N.Mexico St., currently plays in Uruguay) was not able to secure a victory for Malvin (4-1) in their last game. Despite his good performance the first-placed Malvin (4-1) lost 86-92 in a derby game to the leading Bigua in the Places 1-6 group. Passos scored 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 35 minutes. They ended the series of eight consecutive victories. Passos has reliable stats this year: 11.0ppg, 10.1rpg and 1.5apg in 28 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team nine years ago.

   #8. Guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona, currently plays in NBA) couldn't help the Los Angeles Lakers (35-42) in their game against the Utah Jazz (47-30) in the NBA. Machado scored 7 points and added 3 assists. The Los Angeles Lakers (35-42) were defeated 115-100 in Salt Lake City by the Utah Jazz. This season Machado averages only 2.5ppg. He is a naturalized American. Machado plays currently for the Brazilian national team. Strangely he has never played in Brazil.

Burgos lost 76-84 on their home court in Burgos to the higher-ranked (#11) Blusens Monbus. This year Lima's overall stats are: 6.5ppg and 4.9rpg in 12 games. He is also in the roster of the Brazilian national team.

Center Felipe Braga (213-94, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 3-point Un.Oviedo's victory against the sixth-ranked Estudiantes Lugo Leyma Natura (14-9) 84-81 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. Braga recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 assists and 3 blocks. AD Universidad de Oviedo (9-14) is placed 11th in Group A-B. Former international forward Leonardo Demetrio (208-94, currently plays in Spain) managed to help RETAbet Bilbao Basket in a victory against the eighth-ranked Palencia Baloncesto crushing them 88-59 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Sunday. Demetrio scored only 4 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 20 minutes. This year Demetrio's total stats are: 8.0ppg and 4.8rpg in 25 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team three years ago.

   #12. Former U18 international center Lucas Siewert (202-97, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Norfolk State University 76-60 in the NCAA 1/8 Finals on Monday night. Siewert scored 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Siewert has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.5apg. He used to play for the Brazilian U18 national team back in 2014.

   #13. U21 international power forward Michael Uchendu (208-98, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Leyma Basquet's victory against the closely-ranked Barca II 58-49 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Friday. He scored 10 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and made 3 blocks. Uchendu has averaged so far 7.2ppg and 6.3rpg. He is also Brazilian U21 national team player.

   #14. Former international center Nene Hilario (211-82, currently plays in NBA) helped Houston Rockets win their game against the Denver Nuggets crushing them 112-85 in the NBA on Thursday night. Hilario scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 15 minutes. Hilario has averaged so far 3.6ppg and 3.0rpg in 39 games. He used to play for the Brazilian national team back in 2016.

   #15. U21 international point guard Caio Pacheco (190-99, currently plays in Argentina) helped Bahia Basket win their game against the closely-ranked Hispano Americano de Rio Gallegos 80-75 in the Argentinian La Liga last Monday. Pacheco scored only 4 points and added 5 assists in 29 minutes. Pacheco has averaged so far 5.6ppg, 2.6rpg and 3.1apg in 19 games. He is also in the roster of the Brazilian U21 national team.


The list of other players, who all have Brazilian passport but never been selected to any of Brazilian national teams:

   #1. Romulo Gusmao (207-C-95, currently plays in Argentina) managed to help Ferrocarril Oeste in a victory against the 14th-ranked Hispano Americano de Rio Gallegos (10-12) crushing them 95-61 in the Argentinian La Liga in Sunday night's game. Gusmao recorded only 3 points in 4 minutes on the court. Ferrocarril Oeste (17-11) is placed third in the La Liga. This year Gusmao averages just 0.8ppg in nine games he played so far.

   #2. Ayan Carvalho (196-G/F-97, college: Temple, currently plays in Argentina) could not help Deportivo Viedma (23-14) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Carvalho's good performance Deportivo Viedma was edged 80-79 on the road by the lower-ranked Ciclista (#5) in the South - South group. He recorded 12 points. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Carvalho has averaged so far 7.6ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.1spg. He has a dual citizenship: Brazilian and Argentinian. Despite Carvalho's Brazilian passport, he previously played for the Argentinian university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Brazilian team.

   #3. Victor Leal (204-PF-96, currently plays in Argentina) contributed to a 3-point Comunicaciones' victory against the closely-ranked La Union (12-26) 83-80 in the Argentinian La Liga on Monday night. Leal scored only 3 points. Comunicaciones Mercedes (13-13) is placed tenth in the La Liga. Leal has averaged so far 4.5ppg and 2.5rpg.

   #4. Thiago Makhlouf (210-C-87, currently plays in Lebanon) contributed to a 2-point Al Moutahed's victory against the closely-ranked Beirut Club (12-4) 74-72 in the Lebanese LBL in Monday night's game. He recorded only 4 points in 11 minutes. Al Moutahed Tripoli (5-11) is placed seventh in the LBL. Makhlouf has averaged so far 2.5ppg and 3.0rpg in four games. He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Lebanese.

   #5. Feliciano Perez (210-C-90, currently plays in Argentina) led Centro Deportivo Rivadavia de Mendoza to a victory against the eighth-ranked La Union (12-26) 98-92 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) in Monday night's game. Perez had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks in 30 minutes. Centro Deportivo Rivadavia de Mendoza (19-19) is placed fourth in South - South group. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Perez has averaged so far 9.3ppg and 8.1rpg in 21 games.

   #6. Renato Ribeiro (190-F-95, currently plays in Portugal) contributed to a 3-point Dragon Force's victory against the seventh-ranked Beira Mar 90-87 in the Portuguese Proliga (second division) last Saturday. He scored only 2 points. Ribeiro has averaged so far 6.9ppg and 4.1rpg.

   #7. Experienced Kalebe Lauback (198-F-2, currently plays in Portugal) is a teammate of previously mentioned Renato Ribeiro and both played together in the last Portuguese Proliga game. Lauback contributed to a 3-point Dragon Force's victory against the seventh-ranked Beira Mar 90-87. He scored only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court. This year Lauback averages just 1.0ppg in two games.
