There was a change at the Liga Ouro leadership position after last games. Round 10 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Cerrado (6-4). They were defeated by third ranked Sao Paulo FC (6-3) 81-69 on Monday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cerrado. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Sao Paulo FC dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Cerrado's 32. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sao Paulo FC made 8 blocks. Center Joao Vitor (213-98) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Kyle Benjamin (206-91, college: Bridgeport) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks during the contest. At the losing side point guard Patrick Vieira (186-93) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sao Paulo FC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Cerrado at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Londrina. Cerrado will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Sao Paulo FC will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Campo Mourao on the road.
Liga Ouro top team - Londrina (7-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Pato Basquete (3-6) 71-67. American guard Jonathan Mulmore (193, college: Georgetown) notched 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Ricardo Azevedo supported him with 13 points. Even 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by American point guard Dominic Phillips (180-91, college: Harris-Stowe St.) did not help to save the game for Pato Basquete. Londrina have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-2 record. Pato Basquete at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Londrina will play against Rio Claro (#5) at home in the next round. Pato Basquete will play against UniFacisa and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Jonathan Mulmore fired 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Gerson Santo produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Blumenau's coach Sidney Coppini rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Londrina have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-2 record. Loser Blumenau stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Londrina will meet at home Rio Claro (#5) in the next round. Blumenau will have a break next round.



Sao Paulo FC - Cerrado 81-69
